چکیده

We experimentally test four different information aggregation mechanisms. Each mechanism is tested in a simple ‘two-state’ environment and a complex ‘eight-state’ environment where the number of securities is large (relative to the number of traders) and the Bayesian inference problem is significantly more difficult. We find that the Double Auction market mechanism performs well in the simple environment, but performs poorly in the complex environment. An Iterative Polling mechanism performs the best in the complex environment but exhibits failures in the simple environment. Thus, the optimal mechanism choice depends crucially on the complexity of the environment. JEL: C72, C91, D82

Water quality zoning of Vishwamitri River to access environmental flow requirements through aggregation of water quality index

Environmental flow requirements, to maintain the functioning of freshwater-dependent ecosystems and restore rivers in ecologically acceptable conditions, depend upon the present water quality status of the river. Various stretches of Vishwamitri River vary in quality and quantity. Water quality index is a tool to converse information regarding water quality of various stretches of river and can...

Computational Aspects of Mechanism Design

In a preference aggregation setting, a group of agents must jointly make a decision, based on the individual agents’ privately known preferences. To do so, the agents need some protocol (or mechanism) that will elicit this information from them, and make the decision. Examples of such mechanisms include voting protocols, auctions, and exchanges. In most real-world settings, preference aggregati...

Multicast Routing in Wireless Sensor Networks: A Distributed Reinforcement Learning Approach

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are consist of independent distributed sensors with storing, processing, sensing and communication capabilities to monitor physical or environmental conditions. There are number of challenges in WSNs because of limitation of battery power, communications, computation and storage space. In the recent years, computational intelligence approaches such as evolutionar...

The Impact of Data Aggregation in Wireless Sensor Networks

Sensor networks are distributed event-based systems that differ from traditional communication networks in several ways: sensor networks have severe energy constraints, redundant low-rate data, and many-to-one flows. Datacentric mechanisms that perform in-network aggregation of data are needed in this setting for energy-efficient information flow. In this paper we model data-centric routing and...

Fuzzy Complexity Analysis with Conflict Resolution for Educational Projects

Evaluative and comparative analysis among educational projects remains an issue for administration, program directors, instructors, and educational institutes. This study reports a fuzzy complexity model for educational projects, which has two primary aspects (technical aspects and transparency aspects). These aspects may not be measured precisely due to uncertain situations. Therefore, a fuzzy...
